Cut-off settings

You can set the cut-off score for your tests to make quick hiring decisions. 

To set a cut-off score for your test, follow these steps:

  1. Log into HackerEarth Recruit using your admin credentials.
  2. Click Assessments
  3. Search your test by test name or tags
  4. Select the test you want 

The overview of the test is displayed under the Test details section. You can find the cut-off settings in the Settings section.

Rule engine

The purpose of a rule engine is to automate the next steps once a test has ended. The next steps are determined based on the cut-off score that you set for the test.

Note: It is important to set the cut-off score to a number greater than zero.

Any next steps you have selected will be processed 15 minutes after the test ends.

Actions using the rule engine

You can take the following actions at the end of the test when the candidate’s score is above the cut-off score:

  • No action
  • Invite the candidates to the other test
  • Shortlist the candidate
  • Reset the test for the candidate
  • Archive the candidate profile

No action No action will be taken even if the candidate’s score exceeds the cut-off score.
2 Invite the candidates to the next test The candidate will be sent a mail invitation for the next test after 15 minutes of the test completion time.
3 Shortlist the candidate The candidate's status will be marked shortlisted and moved to the Shortlisted list. You can check the status of the candidate profile in the Candidates section.
4 Reset the test for the candidate The reset option allows you to reset the test for the candidate.
5 Archive the candidate profile The candidate's status will be marked archived and moved to the Archived list. You can check the status of the candidate profiles in the Candidates section.

Note: You have to enter the next test ID to invite the candidate.

You can perform similar actions when the candidate scores below the cut-off score.
