[Scheduling interviews on FaceCode](https://help.hackerearth.com/facecode?hsLang=en#scheduling-interviews-on-facecode) # Scheduling a new interview You can set up a FaceCode interview in two ways: - **Schedule interview later:** fill in the interview details, date and candidate now, and HackerEarth sends the invitations. - **Create interview link:** get a link instantly and share it yourself. To get started: 1. Log in to your HackerEarth Assessment account using your admin credentials. 2. At the top right, click **Schedule interview later** or **Create interview link**. The **⋯** menu next to these buttons has **Facecode settings**, where admins set company-wide defaults, and **Email summary of all interviews**. ![](https://help.hackerearth.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-19-59-6759-PM.png?width=670&height=83&name=undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-19-59-6759-PM.png) ### Schedule interview later Click **Schedule interview later** and choose an option: - **Single interview:** schedule one interview with one candidate. - **Multiple interviews:** schedule interviews for several candidates at once. Download the template from the option on that page, fill in each candidate's details, including their name, and upload it. - **Offline interview:** for interviews you conduct outside HackerEarth. You fill in the same details, except there's no Settings section and no interview link is generated. A clear title tells other interviewers what kind of questions to ask. ### Date and time - **Date:** The day of the interview. - **Start time:** When the interview starts. - **Time zone:** The time zone used in the emails sent to interviewers and the candidate. - **Duration:** How long the interview lasts, in hours and minutes. You can add up to 5 interviewers, including yourself. For more, see [Adding interviewers](https://help.hackerearth.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007014613-adding-interviewers?hsLang=en). ### Candidate details - **Name:** The candidate's full name. - **Email:** The candidate's email address. - **Country code** and **Phone number:** The candidate's contact number. - **Resume:** Click **Upload resume** to attach the candidate's resume. - **Additional information:** Click **+ Add** to include any other notes about the candidate. ### Settings Turn these on or off for each interview: - **Enable Smart Browser for stricter proctoring:** The candidate must join through Smart Browser. - **AI Chat:** The candidate can chat with an AI assistant during the interview. - **ID verification:** The candidate must verify their identity with Aadhaar through DigiLocker before joining. Admins can change the defaults under **Interviews › ⋯ › Facecode settings › Proctoring settings**. ### Interview evaluation Choose how the candidate is evaluated. **Automatic evaluation** generates a summary at the end of the interview. It scores the candidate on four fixed criteria, each on a 5-point scale: 1. Communication skills 2. Ability to debug 3. Quality of code 4. Solution and execution The summary also uses code compilation data, candidate activity data and audio transcripts. ![](https://help.hackerearth.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-24-05-3340-PM.png?width=1043&height=527&name=undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-24-05-3340-PM.png) **Custom evaluation** lets you set your own criteria. Type each one, or click **Copy from template** to reuse a saved set. Click **+ Add custom criteria** to add more, up to 20. Each interviewer must rate the candidate on every criterion using a 5-point scale. ![](https://help.hackerearth.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-24-16-1457-PM.png?width=1082&height=531&name=undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-24-16-1457-PM.png) When you're done, click **Schedule interview**. ### After you schedule A confirmation shows the interview date and time, and the interview link. From here you can: - Copy the interview link. - Add the interview to your **Google Calendar** or **Outlook Calendar**. - Click **Edit interview** to change any details. ![](https://help.hackerearth.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-24-31-6954-PM.png?width=1082&height=531&name=undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-24-31-6954-PM.png) Interviewers you added must have an active HackerEarth account to join. Candidates join by entering their name and email address. **For an offline interview,** the confirmation has no interview link or calendar options. It notes that the interview happens outside HackerEarth. Once the interview starts, add your feedback from the **Completed** interviews tab. ![](https://help.hackerearth.com/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-24-51-9246-PM.png?width=1082&height=531&name=undefined-Oct-22-2026-02-24-51-9246-PM.png) ### What the candidate receives The candidate gets an email with: - **Company name:** The company that scheduled the interview. - **Date:** The date and time of the interview. - **Add to calendar:** Options to add the interview to Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar. The candidate doesn't need a HackerEarth account. For an offline interview, the candidate still gets an email, but without an interview link. If ID verification is on, the candidate verifies their identity before joining. Create interview link Use this when you want to start an interview right away or share the link yourself. 1. Click **Create interview link**. 2. Copy the link and send it to the interviewers and the candidate.
