Question templates: create, tag, and filter

Templates help you organize and discover questions more easily. You can group related questions under a template, then use that template to quickly filter and locate questions — both in the Library and while building a test in FaceCode.

What are templates?

• Templates are created and managed in the Library.
• Templates can only be added to published questions.
• A single template can be linked to multiple questions, and a single question can be linked to multiple templates.

Creating a template and adding questions to it

1. Open the Library on your HackerEarth account.
2. Click on any published question to open it.
3. Click Save to template (top right of the question view).
4. In the Add to templates panel that opens, you can:
   • Check one or more existing templates to add this question to them, or
   • Click + Create new template, enter a name, and click Create. The new template will now appear in the list and gets applied to the question.
     
     
     
     

Filtering questions by template in the Library

1. In the Library, go to the filters panel on the left.
2. Scroll down to the Templates section.
3. Click Choose templates to open the dropdown, and select one or more templates. 
   
4. Confirm your selection (using Apply, in the same pattern used by other multi-select filters in the Library). 
   
5. The question list updates to show only questions tagged with the selected template(s).

Filtering by template in FaceCode

The same template-based filter is now available in FaceCode, so you can quickly find and add questions created from templates in the Library while building a test.

1. In FaceCode, open Choose from library.
2. In the left panel, under Templates, select one or more templates to filter by.
3. The question list on the right updates to show only questions belonging to the selected template(s).
