AI-powered evaluation of subjective questions with video response

HackerEarth has implemented an AI-based system to evaluate subjective questions that require video responses. This system is designed to assist recruiters in assessing a candidate’s soft skills with greater consistency, efficiency, and depth.

In working with recruiters across various industries, we’ve observed that many candidates perform well in technical assessments but face challenges in clearly expressing their thoughts or demonstrating essential soft skills.

The AI-powered system evaluates video responses based on five key dimensions:

1. Clarity and structure of the response
2. Verbal communication skills
3. Professionalism and appropriate tone
4. Emotional intelligence
5. Positive attitude

These evaluations offer a more comprehensive understanding of each candidate, making it easier for recruiters to identify individuals who not only meet technical requirements but also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Audio Proctoring enhancements

We’ve made technical upgrades to improve the reliability of audio proctoring, particularly in scenarios where we rely on third-party services. The new update ensures that candidates can continue their test without interruption, even if the audio recording fails due to an unexpected issue.

Furthermore, we’ve introduced a background retry mechanism that automatically attempts to reinitiate the audio connection without causing page reloads or disruptions.
