Release Notes: April-May 2026
Here is a list of the latest features and updates released in May 2026.
MFA Enforcement & Password Policy Enhancements
We have rolled out enhanced security features across the platform, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and stronger password policies to improve account protection.
What's new
- Two-Factor Authentication (MFA): MFA is now available on Recruiter and Community platforms and has been added to the candidate test login flow. Enabled users will be required to verify login via OTP.
- Trusted devices: Users can mark a device as trusted during MFA, allowing them to skip OTP verification on the same browser for the next 30 days. This duration is configurable per organization based on their security policy.
- Company-level enforcement: A new setting allows companies to enforce MFA for all admins, ensuring stronger access control. This setting can only be managed by the company's super admin.
- Audit log visibility: Logging has been added in Blackops to track which admin has turned off the MFA enforcement flag at the organization level.
- College accounts: MFA is enforced by default for all college accounts and cannot be disabled, ensuring consistent security standards.
- Password policy update: The minimum password length has been increased from 8 to 12 characters across the platform.
Self-Assessment Report Scheduling
Recruiters can now control when candidate self-assessment reports are sent out, rather than reports always being dispatched immediately after submission.
What's new
Report delivery scheduling is a new setting in the Email & Reports section of every test. Recruiters can choose from three delivery modes:
- Immediately - report is sent as soon as the candidate submits (previous behaviour; now the default).
- At test end - report is held and sent once the test's end date/time is reached. Recruiters must set an end date/time if one is not already configured.
- Custom date & time - report is sent at a specific date and time chosen by the recruiter, up to 30 days after the test ends.
How it works
- The selected schedule is saved alongside the test's end date in a single save action.
- The custom date picker prevents selecting a time before the test ends, with a clear inline error if the constraint is violated.
- A contextual info message in the setting panel describes exactly when reports will go out based on the current selection.
Who it affects
All recruiters with self-assessment reports enabled on their tests. The default remains "Immediately", so existing tests are unaffected unless the recruiter changes the setting.
Smart Browser v2.7.0
We have released Smart Browser v2.7.0, starting with a macOS rollout. This release introduces stronger webcam integrity checks along with usability and accessibility improvements to enhance assessment security and candidate experience.
What's new
- Stronger webcam validation: Smart Browser can now detect and block the use of virtual or software cameras during assessment setup. This includes OBS Virtual Camera, ManyCam, DroidCam, Zoom/Teams virtual cameras, and phone-as-webcam utilities. Candidates must use a physical webcam to proceed with the assessment.
- Improved camera check experience: Candidates can now see a live camera preview during system checks, select the correct camera if multiple devices are connected, and receive guidance if the camera feed is too dark before proceeding.
- Enhanced session audit logging: Audit visibility has been improved by tracking keyboard, mouse, and webcam connect/disconnect events.
- Accessibility improvements: The camera check flow now includes better screen reader support for candidates using assistive technologies.
Rollout plan: This release is rolling out to macOS first. Windows support will follow after stability and performance are validated on Mac environments.
Guidance for candidates who encounter setup issues
If a candidate is blocked during the system check, ask them to:
- Quit virtual camera or streaming applications (OBS, ManyCam, DroidCam, etc.).
- Select their built-in or USB webcam if multiple cameras are listed.
- Improve room lighting and retry.
- Use the Retry option after resolving their setup.
