Format for adding MCQs in bulk

You can add multiple MCQs in one go by using an Excel sheet.

Note: The Excel file that you will use to upload MCQs in bulk must be in the .xls or .xlsx format only.

The format that you must follow in the Excel sheet is as follows:

Enter the name of the section in which you want to upload the questions.

Enter your question.

Option 1 (mandatory)

Add one of the choices as an answer to your question. It is mandatory to add at least 2 options to an MCQ.

Option 2 (mandatory)

Add one of the choices as an answer to your question. It is mandatory to add at least 2 options to an MCQ.

Option 3 (optional)

Add one of the choices as an answer to your question.

Option 4 (optional)

Add one of the choices as an answer to your question.

Option 5 (if you want to add multiple options)

Add one of the choices as an answer to your question.

Correct Option number between 1 to n

Enter the option number that has the correct answer. For example, 3 (which denotes option #3).

Correct score

Enter the correct score of the question.

Negative marking

Enter the marks that will be deducted from the candidate’s overall score, if the answer is incorrect i.e. a negative score.

11 Difficulty level Enter the difficulty level of the questions.
12 Time in seconds (Optional) Enter the total time within which the candidate must answer this question.
13 Comma-separated skills and tags (optional) Add the skills and tags that are relevant to your question.
14  Partial scoring If partial scoring is available in the question, enter YES else NO

Important

  1. You must enter the same name as the section that you have created in your library.
  2. Only the first sheet of the Excel file is considered for the bulk upload.
  3. In the Options field, if the options end with 0 after a decimal point such as 20.0, 1.0, etc., then change the format of the field to 'text' in the Excel sheet.
  4. The questions that have no errors are uploaded to the library whereas the questions that contain errors are not uploaded to the library. You can also view the error that the question contains.
  5. Do not remove or change the header row, however, to add more than four options for an MCQ, create a column next to Option 4 with the header in the same format. For example, Option 5.
  6. Partial scoring is only allowed for multiple answers. The default value of the partial scoring column is No.
